The storms, in some cases of strong intensity, are crossing the coasts of Valencia and Alicante during the early hours of this Friday morning.
For now, the rains are not recorded in a very organized way and their movement is from south to north, except for the storm that has affected the south of Alicante, which remains static in the area, with very strong intensity of precipitation, explains the State Agency of Meteorology (Aemet) in the Valencian Community.
The Alicante-Elche airport has reported a strong rain storm over the aerodrome with horizontal visibility of 1500 meters and light wind from the east.
Likewise, numerous lightning strikes are being recorded. On land, the most active storm is recorded on the southern coast of Alicante, while at sea there are several nuclei in the sea off the coast of Valencia, some of which are beginning to make landfall.
For their part, the Emergency Coordination Center points out that the fire service consortiums have not had to respond to related incidents during the night.
According to data collected by Avamet, the rainfall collected in the last four hours has left 11.7 l/m2 in Xàbia, 10.2 in El Saler and 8.8 in Oliva.
In anticipation of torrential rains, the Xàbia City Council already reported last night of the suspension of classes after the Cecopal meeting held around 9:00 p.m.
The town council of Alicante has asked residents to take maximum caution and pay attention to official information channels to see how this new episode of rain evolves.
