Health expands the facilities of about twenty Primary Care Centers throughout Catalonia

The Department of Health has announced that it will expand the facilities of twenty-two Primary Care Centers (CAP) throughout Catalonia. The Àmbit Metropolità Nord of the Barcelona Health Region is the one that will benefit the most, with six centers affected.

In the Southern Metropolitan Area there will be three expanded CAPs, the same as in Central Catalonia and in the Health Region of Lleida. In Girona, the Ebre and Barcelona Ciudad, two will be remodeled in each area and one will be expanded in Camp de Tarragona.

The actions, which include the construction of both provisional and definitive assistance modules, have to be carried out between this year and next and are budgeted at 42 million euros.

The Government indicates that these investments are intended to provide greater quality and comfort for both professionals and users. The best ones will expand the spaces for healthcare activities, on the one hand, will allow the incorporation of new professional profiles and, on the other, increase the nursing, auxiliary and administrative staff.

The financing of these modules is part of the European REACT funds, of 40 million euros, which are added to the other funding channels. In this way, in the Barcelona-North Metropolitan Area Health Region, a new Primary Care Emergency Center (CUAP) will be built in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Vallès Occidental), the Baix Vallès CUAP and the CAPs of Montgat and Sant Andrey de Llaveneres and Santa Maria de Palautordera (Vallès Oriental), as well as Rocafonda in Mataró and Concordia in Sabadell.

In the Barcelona Health Region, in the South Metropolitan Area, the CAP of Sitges (Garraf) and that of Montclar de Sant Boi and Lluís Millet d'Esplugues, both in the Baix Llobregat, will be expanded.

Regarding Central Catalonia, the CAOs affected are Centelles and Manlleu, in Osona, and the CAP Anoia and Igualada.

In the case of the Health Region of Lleida, the CAP of Mollerussa (Pla d'Urgell) and that of Alpicat (Segrià) will be expanded, apart from the CAP Bordeta Magranes in Lleida city.

In the case of the Health Region of Girona, there will be a remodeling of the CAP Torroella de Montgrí (Baix Empordà) and that of Cassà de la Selva (Girona).

Within the scope of the Terres de l'Ebre Health Region, the CAP of Ametlla de Mar and Roquetes, both in the Baix Ebre, will be expanded.

In the city of Barcelona, ​​two CAPs will be expanded, the Sagrera and the Gòtic. Finally, in Camp de Tarragona, a Primary Care Center is being expanded, that of Torreforta in Tarragona city.
