This morning, the former CEO of Banc Sabadell, Jaume Guardiola, presented the members of his candidacy for the Economic Circle, which is clearly continuous with respect to the current board and with the presence of representatives of large companies. Among the new faces in the Circle are Daniel Aicart (BSM), Rita Almela (101 ventures), Clara Campàs (Asabys) and Pol Morillas (Cidob).
The big companies are represented by Carmina Ganyet (Colonial), Marc Pug (Puig), Miguel Trias Sagnier (Cuatrecasas), Alfonso Rodés (Havas), Francesc Rubiralta (Celsa) or Laura Urquizu (Red Points). The two vice-presidents will be Teresa Garcia Milà (Barcelona School of Economics) and Núria Cabutí (Penguin Random House).
During the presentation of his candidacy, Guardiola pointed out that more than talking about whether the list is continuous or not, what is important is "maintaining the legacy" of an institution founded last year. Guardiola has highlighted that some of the changes introduced by the current board were a success, such as moving the Cercle de Sitges Annual Meeting to Barcelona or the introduction of the awards. Although the team is made up of 21 people, the candidate for president said that there had been some option of incorporating people from the Rosa Cañadas candidacy if they won the elections.
The other members are Camino Quiroga (UIC, Col.legi d'Advocats), Oriol Aspachs (CaixaBank study service), Jordi Amat (writer), Maite Barrera (Bluecap), Mercè Conesa (Incasol), José María Lassalle , Núria Mas (Bank of Spain) and Xavier Vives (IESE).
