València yesterday presented the special award for the best startup, recognized with a prize of 12,000 euros to invest in the company, to GoKoan, a study app that generates personalized learning paths for each student.

Clara Torrijos, its CEO and founder, emotionally received the award at a gala Yesterday was one of the great events of the Valencian entrepreneurial ecosystem, the eighth edition of the VLC Startup Awards, an event organized by the Valencia City Council, through València Activa, in collaboration with Startup Valencia.

In this edition, the award for the best entrepreneur, recognized with 5,000 euros, went to María Luque, CEO and co-founder of Uelz, a no-code platform for collection management and automation that unifies various payment methods on a single platform, thus saving costs technical and infrastructure when implementing online payments.

The other award in the special category, also rewarded with 5,000 euros, is the best startup in the seed (or initial) phase, which went to Therminer, a circular, social and sustainable solution for blockchain and cloud computing that, using liquid cooling technology , recovers 92% of the energy consumed.

During the event, the Deputy Mayor and Town Planning Councilor, Sandra Gómez, highlighted that "local innovative talent is key in the new economic model that we are consolidating with the VLC Tech City platform, a model that is based on technology, knowledge and sustainability that allows us to become a reference hub in the Mediterranean”.

For his part, the Councilor for Economic Development, Borja Sanjuan, stated that “these awards aim to make visible the great ideas that are born and grow in our city to connect talent and innovation with citizens. We have to continue creating spaces like this so that Valencian men and women get to know the great Valencian ideas that are astonishing the entire world”.

For his part, Juan Luis Hortelano, CEO of Startup Valencia, pointed out that "the celebration of the seventh edition of these awards, the level of the startups presented and the people who are gathered at this gala are a reflection of the positioning and potential of the Valencian innovative and technological ecosystem. An ecosystem that is emerging in Europe and that, in addition, has the strong point that all its agents are rowing together in the same direction".

There were 11 other winners, and a total of 55,000 euros was distributed among all of them.
