The president of the employers' association, Antonio Garamendi, today described the price control plan for the shopping cart promoted by Vice President Yolanda Díaz as "Soviet planning" and a "cartel" situation. In his opinion, the Government cannot regulate the prices of basic products.
During a colloquium in the framework of the Vanguard Forums, Garamendi pointed out that contrary to what the Vice President of the Government has highlighted, the CEOE has not left the negotiating table. Regarding wages, in her opinion the current approach of the unions to index them to the CPI will generate second-round inflation.
The meeting with Antonio Garamendi, president of the CEOE, which is being held at La Pedrera in Barcelona, is moderated by Manel Pérez, deputy director of La Vanguardia; Montse Martí, head of economics at RAC1 and Ramon Rovira, journalist. It is a talk in the Foros de Vanguardia series attended by dozens of newspaper subscribers. Before the summer, the Governor of the Bank of Spain, Pablo Hernández de Cos, participated in another Vanguard Forum.
