The last sandstorm on Gavà beach, in Baix Llobregat, has been spectacular, with a fierce wind creating an impressive blizzard, as can be seen in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.
Sandstorms are not exclusive to deserts. This phenomenon occurs when a large amount of dry sand is lifted and held in suspension by the action of the wind. For this, this wind must be especially strong and rising, after several days of intense heat.
At noon, the fog has engulfed the Gavà beach. The Garraf massif was not visible. Simply amazing, as can be seen in the images.
Fog is a meteorological phenomenon, which consists of the suspension of very small droplets of water in the atmosphere or of humid hygroscopic particles, which reduce horizontal visibility at a distance of one kilometer or more.
If the meteorological phenomenon gives a vision of 1 km or less, it is considered as fog; and if it allows you to see more than 1 km, the phenomenon is fog.
