The Competition Committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) imposed a two-game sanction on Friday against the Brazilian player from Valencia Gabriel Paulista, sent off with a direct red card last night in the postponed game of matchday 17 against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The referee Javier Alberola Rojas reflected in the minutes that Paulista was sent off in the 72nd minute, for a harsh action on Real Madrid player Vinícius Júnior, after "kicking an opponent with no option to challenge for the ball, using excessive force".
The Competition Committee sanctioned the Valencian player with two matches for violence during a match (article 130.2 of the Disciplinary Code), the same sanction that was imposed on William Carvalho from Betis, expelled at the end of the match against Barcelona played on the 1st and also postponed of day 17.
Carvalho also received a direct red card for addressing the referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea at the end of the match against Barcelona, to reproach him for some of his actions and the Committee punished his attitude for contempt or inconsideration towards the referees (art. 124).
