Freedom with charges for two men accused of setting fire to an apartment in Lleida

The judge has ordered freedom with charges for the two men, aged 22 and 30, accused of arson for setting fire to a house on the second floor of a three-story block on Calle Marte in the Mariola neighborhood of Lleida east Wednesday. The police arrested them at quarter past ten in the morning on the same street, shortly after the fire broke out at half past eight.

Because of the fire, five people were treated for smoke intoxication, while two were transferred in a less serious condition to the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital. The causes or motivations of the fire are unknown and the police are investigating it. La Paeria began the previous tasks of rubble this Thursday, after signing the decree of imminent ruin of the building.

Nine fire departments extinguished the fire that calcined the floor and affected the structure of the property declared in economic ruin. According to social services, there were seven family units living in the burned-out house, for whom a residential solution has been sought.
