Fox News' Juan Williams Announces He Is Leaving The Five

To be clear, Williams is staying with Fox News, but announced at the close of the series,"This really is my last day hosting The Five."

"Covid taught me a lot of lessons. Since the series goes back into the New York studio, I'll be staying in DC. I will be working for Fox from Washington. My work as a Fox News political analyst will last," he said.

Williams has been a routine co-host of The Five for several decades, getting in rather heated conversations together with the others.

His co-hosts gave him a sendoff using a montage featuring some of his more lighthearted moments on this program.

In a statement given to Mediaite,'' Fox News VP Megan Albano said,"As Juan Williams declared on air now, he will be leaving The Five to live at Washington, DC total time. We are incredibly grateful for his devotion to the series and its success over the past several years. As we started intending The Five's return to its new york studio at our headquarters a couple of months ago, Juan decided to remain in Washington, DC forever. We accommodated his requestunderstanding and appreciating his desire to remain closer to his family and recognizing a remote co-hosting role on a roundtable in-studio program wasn't a long-term option.

Fox News plans to test out a rotating series of liberal commentators at the position before deciding on a permanent replacement.
