Little by little the Mossos d'Esquadra are connecting the dots and are dismantling the 'Casuals', the most violent faction of the 'Boixos Nois', which was resurrected after years of hiatus. As La Vanguardia has learned, yesterday Tuesday, four members linked to the organization were arrested, accused of participating in the stabbing murder of a trafficker in the Free Trade Zone. The detainees are three men, aged 28, 26 and 25, belonging to 'Los Cachorros', the Casuals' youth academy, and a woman, aged 25, the partner of one of them. The crime was committed on April 2 in Plaza Nou in Barcelona. At around 5:30 in the morning, the perpetrators stabbed two men, one of whom died and the other was seriously injured. They then fled in a car. This was one of the crimes that remained to be solved, but that investigators attributed without a doubt to the 'Boixos Nois' in the context of a dispute with a rival group related to drug trafficking. According to legal sources, those arrested will be brought to the disposal of the judge this Thursday who will have to decide whether they go to prison. The Mossos investigation remains open and the case is under summary secrecy.
In June, the Mossos dealt a hard blow to the Casuals organization, which was born in the heat of the violent altercations of the 'Boixos Nois' at football matches and which has become a crime branch dedicated to drug trafficking. , extortions, threats, kidnappings and which was also related to three murders. In addition to the one in the Free Trade Zone, the Mossos also attribute two more crimes to the Casuals: the shooting death of another drug trafficker that occurred in February in Badia del Vallès and the death of a brothel employee whose body was found wrapped in the trunk. of a van while driving along Via Augusta in Barcelona.
In the case of Badía del Vallès, a trafficker who was waiting in a parking lot with the window open was shot six times by two occupants of a motorcycle. The deceased was the brother of rapper Rachid Gdari, known as Sardina and who has a history of drug trafficking and kidnappings and who is one of the trafficking groups enemies of the Casuals. In the open investigation against the 'Boixos', conversations were intervened in which they alluded to the death of El Sardina. The Casuals had already had several confrontations and altercations. In August 2022, one of the leaders of the organization, known as Paco, El Gordo, along with a group of people, attacked one of the stores managed by El Sardina at knifepoint. One of the store's controllers was stabbed and a bullet hit the window of a neighboring building.
With these arrests there are now more than 30 members linked to the Casuals arrested in various operations that the Mossos have been carrying out since June of this year. Twelve of them were placed in preventive detention. The considered leader of the organization, Ricardo Mateo, alias Kaiser, was arrested in early August in a place where he was hiding after the police did not find him at home on the day they wanted to arrest him along with the rest of the members of the organization. the organization.
