Florentino Pérez, successfully operated on a nodule in a lung

Florentino Pérez, the president of Real Madrid, underwent a successful operation this Tuesday morning for a lung condition. Pérez has had a nodule removed from one of his lungs in an intervention that had been scheduled for today at the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital in Majadahonda (Madrid). The operation ended around 11:30 a.m. and the prognosis is good, according to club sources.

The president of the white club, 75 years old, must rest in the hospital between 48 and 72 hours before returning home. Today in Leipzig will be one of the very few Champions League games in which Florentino Pérez has not accompanied the team.

Florentino Pérez's last public appearance was last Saturday the 22nd in the Santiago Bernabeu box to watch Real Madrid-Seville. Days before, on Monday the 17th, he was in Paris, presiding over the Real Madrid expedition that attended the Ballon d'Or gala.

The last mishap in Florentino Pérez's health occurred in February 2021, when he tested positive for covid, although it was an asymptomatic case of little importance. In a few days he tested negative again.
