Five trains stopped on a section of single track due to a fault in the catenary in Tarragona

Civil Protection has activated the pre-alert phase of the Plan Ferrocat after an incident in the catenary that affects the circulation of trains on the R13 and R14 lines of Rodalies Catalunya, and of goods. In this sense, there are two passenger trains and three freight trains stopped on a stretch of single track in Vimbodí, in the region of Conca de Barberà.

Equip Viari has informed that for the moment the railway traffic is stopped between Borges Blanques (Garrigues) and Plana de Picamoixons (Alt Camp) due to an incident in the catenary between Riu Milans (Conca de Barberà) and L'Espluga de Francolí (Conca de Barberà). According to Adif, the trains are standing still on a section of single track in Vimbodí (Conca de Barberà) and they are working "to solve the breakdown in the shortest possible time".

Renfe sources have indicated that an alternative road service has been established between Montblanc (Conca de Barberà) and Lleida. "Buses have moved to pick up the passengers" from the stopped trains.

An Ouigo company train, which was covering the route between Madrid and Barcelona, was trapped with more than 450 passengers inside on July 5 in the Serra Llarga tunnel in Roda de Berà (Tarragona). The incident was resolved hours later after towing the damaged train to Camp de Tarragona.
