The Generalitat Fire Brigade have activated ten crews and a bomber helicopter to fight a forest fire that has broken out in an area of difficult access in Vallirana (Baix Llobregat).
As reported by the Fire Department, the fire started around 5:20 p.m. today, Sunday, and affects an area of forest vegetation in Vallirana. Fire fighters are trying to contain the fire in an orchard area.
The 112 emergency telephone number has received fifty alert calls for this fire, for which the Civil Protection of the Generalitat has activated the pre-alert of the Infocat plan.
A total of 31 of the 42 Catalan counties are today in the red alert level due to the risk of forest fires, including Baix Llobregat, where Vallirana is located, due to the drought affecting Catalonia and the strong wind.
