Fernando Díaz del Río gives Spain the third silver medal in the European Championships in Rome

The Spanish Fernando Díaz del Río achieved the third silver medal for the Spanish delegation at the European Championships in Rome by finishing runner-up in the artistic swimming free solo event.

With 83.3333 points, Díaz del Río climbed to the second drawer of the podium below the Italian winner Giorgio Minisini (88.4667) and ahead of the Frenchman Quentin Rakotomalala (78 points).

On Friday, the Canarian swimmer already won the first silver medal of the Spanish delegation by finishing second in the men's solo. The swimmer is making history, not only for winning these medals but for being the first Spaniard to do so in a European Championship.

Yesterday, Saturday, the Catalans Emma García and Pau Ribes achieved the second silver with their performance in the final of the artistic swimming free mixed duo.
