Feijóo contrasts the "nonsense" of the Government with the "stability and certainty" offered by the PP

It will be seen this afternoon face to face in the Senate, but Alberto Núñez Feijóo tries not to raise his voice, which does not take away from maintaining a tough speech against Pedro Sánchez, plunged in his opinion into insults, "nonsense and continuing crisis." The president of the PP showed this spirit without stridency this morning, in the presentation of the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, at a breakfast organized by the Europa Press agency, in Madrid.

The president of the PP took the opportunity to launch messages to those who recommend what kind of opposition he should make, and made it clear that "the street is the only thermometer that matters." Feijóo is clear that the policy that he must develop is what he did in Galicia during his presidency and what Rueda is doing now. In fact, he pointed out that it is what he has been doing since he was elected president of the PP just eight months ago.

"In front of the one who insults - Feijóo stressed -, "understanding and moderation". If the Government of Sánchez is characterized by "nonsense and the continuous crisis, the scare and the occurrence", the governments of the PP are based on "stability and certainty". If Sánchez has as a rule "undermining the institutions", there is the PP, as "guarantor of institutional respect".

For Feijóo it is not just a question of style, but also of specific decisions, and for this reason he highlighted the responsibility of popular governments that lower taxes against a coalition government that raises them. He gave as an example what happens in Galicia with the reduction of the minimum rate of personal income tax to benefit those who have less. He also countered that "compared to those who are inhibited in defending the two languages" in Catalonia, there is the "harmonic bilingualism" that governs Galicia.

The president of the PP was harsh in his criticism of Pedro Sánchez, who in his opinion presides over "a great government, but not for the Spanish, but for the pro-independence and populist minorities" for whom he has made "a tailored Penal Code", even if he has to “disarm the State” to do so.

The leader of the PP remarked that this coalition government will be "good for embezzlers" if the ERC theses that require the Executive to reduce the penalties for embezzlement in certain cases end up triumphing. "A government -continued Feijóo- with which "the sexual offenders who benefit from poor legislative technique" who instead of correcting mistakes, refuse to do so and blame others.

For his part, the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, complained that Sánchez "harms Galicia to harm Feijóo." An issue that in this autonomous community perceives how investment in infrastructures has been reduced, European Funds. They consider that Catalonia or the Basque Country are treated differently. Rueda stressed that Galicia feels "despreciated" when the Government, in order to belittle Feijóo, comes to say "that governing Galicia is nothing, because Galicia is nothing."

Alberto Núñez Feijóo explained the political model that has triumphed in Galicia, because he is convinced that it will win in Spain, and whose success is due to the fact that "the PP knew how to evolve in this community to the beat of the Galician people." A style that materialized in an electoral slogan of the PP of Galicia: "Gallician like you". It is what Feijóo wants to do: "We are a party that listens," he said, because the key is to be "Spanish like you"
