Feijóo accuses the Generalitat of doing

The reality of Spanish political life confronts the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, with an issue, that of the use of Catalan, which goes beyond his demand for "cordial bilingualism", when the Government of the Generalitat tries to circumvent the sentence that requires that at least 25% of the subjects be given in schools in Spanish.

In an interview this morning on Onda Cero, the president of the PP stressed that "it is not reasonable for a government to make linguistic apartheid to part of the population", and criticized that the Government of Pedro Sánchez "looks the other way in the face of non-compliance of a judicial sentence like this", something that he considers "unprecedented" in Europe".

With this complaint, Feijóo places himself in the line that the PP has always maintained, in Catalonia and in Spain, regarding the situation of Catalan in Catalonia, which may come in handy for the PP so that votes are not lost to Vox or even to Cs, but it also raises doubts about what his "cordial bilingualism" means, which he proposes for Catalonia, as he has nurtured in Galicia.

Feijóo confirmed that he will appeal to the Constitutional Court the decree that eliminates the percentages in the application of languages in Catalonia, because it goes against the sentences that establish the percentage in which Spanish must be used in the classrooms at a minimum of 25%. and he emphasized that it cannot be allowed "that in Catalonia the laws are not complied with and the Pp is obliged to present an appeal of unconstitutionality".

By failing to comply, according to the president of the PP, "the rights of children in schools are not respected", for which he holds the Government of Sánchez responsible: "which is the guarantor that the law is complied with in Catalonia". With the non-application of the sentence, according to Feijóo, the Executive discriminates "in favor of independence and against constitutionalism."

"It cannot be accepted that Spain is not a state of law", with the failure to comply with the ruling on Spanish, and for this reason the PP is going to demand compliance with the laws, although it complains that "it seems that those of us who ask for that the law is respected, we are strange people".

In addition, the president of the PP has warned about the intention of the independence movement, which is in the Government, to undertake a new process, but in this case "a linguistic process", breaching the laws as happened with the approval of the disconnection laws in 2017 In his opinion, and seeing Sánchez's reaction, he is convinced that "with Pedro Sánchez, the procés would not have stopped."

For this reason, he stressed, if he were president of the Government, the first thing Feijóo would do would be "appeal that decree and put it on hold" and when he is president "we are going to demand compliance with the laws and sentences." For this, he will study what sanctions could be applied to educational centers that do not comply with the linguistic law.

Regarding the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary, Feijóo acknowledges that it should have been renewed, but rejects the PSOE's accusation that the PP, by not renewing it, is breaching the Constitution. "We are all breaking the Constitution."

"The Government has taken over the institutions," said Feijóo, who stressed that more than because of the Andalusian elections, the talks have not been resumed because "we are facing a Government that does not maintain basic consensus and invades the institutions", at the same time who complained that the Government has not even wanted to discuss the PP's proposals on measures to get out of the crisis, and yet only wants the PP's votes to renew the Judiciary.

Regarding the elections in Andalusia and the good results predicted by the polls, Alberto Núñez Feijóo stressed that "we have to do the Andalusian campaign as if the polls did not exist" and stressed that the PP will work to "get a majority".
