Feijóo accuses Sánchez of blocking a great PP-PSOE coalition to govern Ceuta

The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has accused Pedro Sánchez, acting president of the Government, of "blocking an agreement for the stability of Ceuta" and has reproached him for his "interest in staying in power".

After coming close to reaching an agreement, the negotiations between the PP and the PSOE to form a coalition government in Ceuta stopped yesterday. The Socialists assured that "at present there is not and cannot be a government pact with the PP of Feijóo."

The leader of the popular has made a tweet this morning in which he has claimed that "the PP is a state party" and has accused Sánchez of blocking "an agreement for the stability of Ceuta".

In a statement to the media, the general secretary of the Ceuta socialists, Juan Gutiérrez, yesterday "absolutely" denied that "there is any agreement with the popular ones to form a government in Ceuta." It should be remembered that the last regional elections in Ceuta gave the PP nine seats, which added to the six obtained by the PSOE, would exceed the absolute majority of 25 councillors.

Criticism of the PSOE's decision to halt negotiations with the PP has been shared among various leaders of the popular. Cuca Gamarra, spokesman for the PP in Congress, accused Sánchez that he "only seeks his own interest", and reproached him for activating "his 'no is no' even from Morocco." "He is above Ceuta," added Gamarra.

In addition, from the official PP account on Twitter, the PSOE was accused of paying "with populism, rejecting dialogue and democracy."
