Jazz arrives in Mataró this month with the 10th edition of the A la vora del Jazz festival. From March 2 to 30, a total of seven proposals of different national and international jazz styles are scheduled. Highlights include the performance of the Italian trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso, who will perform with his quartet on March 23, and that of the American saxophonist Harry Allen, who will accompany the Big Band Jazz Maresme.
Fabrizio Bosso visits the festival again, this time to present We4, his new project together with the aforementioned quartet. Together they create a very characteristic sound through their own compositions. With We4 the quartet defends the importance of making music together and sharing it on stage after the covid lockdown. The concert will take place on March 23 at 9:00 p.m. at the Casal de l'Aliança.
Another special performance is that of Harry Allen accompanied by the Big Band Jazz Maresme. Considered one of the best saxophonists of the moment, Allen has published some thirty albums as a leader and is part of the neoclassical movement within jazz. This fusion with the Maresme band can be seen on Thursday, March 30 at 9:00 p.m. also at the Casal de l'Aliança.
The lineup is completed by Dani Nel·lo Organ Trío, Hip Horns Brass Collective, Elisabet Raspall Quartet, Yadira Ferrer and performances by various school big bands in the Jazz al Pati proposal.
These musical events will take place in four stages in the capital of the Maresme: El Casal de l'Aliança, Celler Castellví, the Cafè Nou patio and Plaça Santa Anna.
