Estrella Galicia has announced the arrival of a new format without packaging in its can packs with the aim of reducing the number of containers. In this way, the No pack dispenses with the cardboard that covers them, to advance in the minimization of waste and the carbon footprint.
With this format, the brand is committed to innovation, replacing the cardboard in its packs with a solution based on the use of glue points that serve as a union between the cans. Until now, Estrella Galicia used 100% recyclable cardboard. Now, with this gesture, the Galician company will reduce the carbon footprint of each of its six packs by 40%. A novelty that will gradually reach the different beer packs.
“Our ambition is to always do things better, and the No Pack is the perfect example that sums up our purpose of not settling; We believe that the best packaging for the planet is the one that does not exist”, says Ignacio Rivera, president of Corporación Hijos de Rivera.
Along with this No Pack for the six-can packs, the brewery has announced other changes in parallel to minimize waste also in larger formats: the film that covers the 12- and 24-can packs will be replaced by 100% recyclable paper. With this, the company will eliminate all secondary plastic from all its canned formats.
