Estrada's reaction after the admission of his complaint for the Negreira Case

Last Wednesday the Investigating Court 1 of Barcelona admitted in the framework of the Negreira case the complaint of the Prosecutor's Office. It also admits the complaint filed by the former referee Xavier Estrada Fernández against Enríquez Negreira and the company Dasnil 95 SL for an alleged crime of sports corruption or sports fraud.

The Catalan referee, who currently performs VAR functions, indicated in a statement "his personal satisfaction at having admitted the complaint, a circumstance that will allow the denounced facts to be investigated until the end."

Estrada Fernández adds that "admitting the complaint to processing implies the interruption of the statute of limitations for the crimes denounced, thereby preventing impunity for them" and reiterates "his willingness to defend the good repute of the Spanish arbitrators, the cleanliness of the competition as well as the sporting integrity of Spanish football".

The statement from the referee, represented by his lawyer Jorge Culleré Lavilla, ends with "it is never too early to fight, clearly and decisively, against sports corruption, on the contrary, all diligence and speed is little."

According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, these payments made by the Catalan club between 2001 and 2018, amounting to 7.3 million euros, could constitute a continuing crime of corruption between individuals in the sports field, a continuing crime of unfair administration and a continued crime of falsifying a commercial document.
