Esquerra and Junts blame each other for destabilizing the Government

Until the general policy debate in the Parlament, from September 27 to 30, it can still rain a lot between the partners of the Government. Yesterday it rained enough so that the puddles did not evaporate and so that some new ones formed: Esquerra accused JxCat of "destabilizing" the Government to cover "its internal disputes"; the post-convergents blamed the Republicans for the same thing by not complying, as they pointed out, with the agreements that allowed the investiture of Pere Aragonès.

Accusing each other of the instability of the Government is something that was not on the list of reproaches until today. However, the two formations have promised to resolve their differences and sources from both parties assume that the general policy debate may be the key. There they hope to be able to agree on resolution proposals that give some margin to understanding in the national axis, that is, in taking steps towards independence. Representatives of the two parties met yesterday. A meeting that ended "without news", according to sources familiar with the event, and with the ERC's request to Junts to prevent internal dynamics from affecting the Government and Parliament.

The recent audit that the party chaired by Laura Borràs has carried out to analyze whether the Government's agreements are being complied with has tightened the seams. The general secretary of JxCat, Jordi Turull, announced that after the general policy debate, his formation will decide if he should leave the Catalan Executive. He would do it by submitting it to a vote of the militancy. In this regard, the deputy general secretary and spokesperson for the ERC, Marta Vilalta, described as "profoundly irresponsible" that Junts "wants to destabilize the Government of which it is a part". And even more so if one takes into account that of the two heads of this audit, Josep Rius and Victòria Alsina, the second is a minister.

"It is obvious that criticism can be made that serves to advance, but you cannot be a government and an opposition at the same time, building during the day and destroying at night, it is absolutely irresponsible," Vilalta assured.

On the other hand, yesterday President Aragonès announced that he will attend the political event that will be organized by Òmnium Cultural in Paseo Lluís Companys for September 11th in Barcelona. Sources close to the president highlighted to Efe the transversality of this act, in which Aragonès "has always participated", in contrast, they say, with the critical tone of the demonstration called by the ANC, to which Aragonès announced that he would not attend.
