ERC and Junts reproach Feijóo for the PP newspaper archive and the absence of solutions to the conflict

ERC and Junts, in the brief turn to respond to the final session of the investiture of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, have agreed to reproach the PP for a newspaper library that they consider anti-Catalan and that in itself explains their 'no' to the popular candidate. And they have also agreed to demand the rights of Catalonia to vote on its future and aspire to independence. “The amnesty is the beginning of the negotiation,” said Republican deputy Teresa Jordà.

“ERC votes are and will be in the defense of Catalonia and at the disposal of the popular classes, whatever language they speak,” said Jordà, after describing the investiture session as “vaudeville” and reproaching the head of state for having proposed Alberto Núñez Feijóo as a presidential candidate when he did not have sufficient support.

The former councilor insisted that her party will continue talking “about the independence of Catalonia”, and invited the candidate to take an interest in that debate, “because with the independence of Catalonia you could be the Spain you want to be, you could govern Spain with an absolute majority.” . Jordà added that “the amnesty is the beginning of the negotiation.”

Junts spokesperson, Miriam Nogueras, stressed that the presidential candidate, in his interventions, “has not provided any proposal to solve the conflict that exists between Spain and Catalonia.”

Nogueras critically reviewed the contributions of the PP to Catalonia, starting with the appeal against the Statute: “They have conspired to destroy the health system of Catalonia, they applied 155 with very serious social consequences, you are those of the Judas operation, the Catalunya operation and Operation Pegasus.” He summarized all this in three mottos, “the contributions for which they will be remembered: 'sign a little sign here against the Catalans', 'Puigdemont to prison' and 'before German than Catalan'”.

The Junts spokesperson closed her intervention with an expression of rejection of the PP and an invocation of the future negotiation of the investiture of Pedro Sánchez: "It is Catalonia's turn to be Catalonia: our vote will be no."
