ERC accuses Sánchez of giving in to the "blackmail" of Morocco so that "dark information" does not come out

The ERC Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Marta Rosique, has assured in plenary session of Congress that the only explanation for Spain changing its position on Western Sahara, making enemies of Algeria in the midst of the energy crisis, is due to the "blackmail" of Morocco, to avoid some "dark" and even "criminal" information to come to light.

In the debate at the appearance of President Pedro Sánchez, the ERC deputy recalled that, when Europe drastically reduced its dependence on Russian gas, Spain blew up the import agreement with Algeria, its main supplier, for having changed its historical position of support for the Sahara.

"Then how do you explain that they change Algerian gas for Russian gas? From our point of view there can only be one explanation. Morocco and its blackmail, affecting a state institution or one of you," he stated. In his opinion, Morocco "must have really valuable information to move its strings so easily" and that even the Government does not even investigate espionage with 'Pegasus'. "The information they have about this is really so obscure, so criminal, that it's better that it doesn't come to light," he says.

Of course, ERC assures that it does not intend to treat the Government as a "victim" because, as it has stated, it considers that the Socialists are not opposed to espionage: "What's more, it is a policy of their government. Let's not forget that they began the infiltration with Pegasus in the Catalan and Basque independence movement in 2019 and have been accomplices and promoters of the policy of repressing the independence movement with judges, police and the Treasury".

Rosique has also reproached the Government that if the news of the promotion of another 43,000 homes for rentals is "positive today" why was it not when the Housing Law was being negotiated with this formation and hoped not to have to "pursue" him to comply with the "electoral promises he is making today."

Rosique has made it ugly that Sánchez's appearance today was "37 minutes doing a PSOE electoral rally" in Congress, 10 minutes on "his friendly dictatorship" and 10 more minutes on Ukraine. On this last issue, she has criticized that the State "has boasted of promoting sanctions against the Russians", while in 2022, when Europe "drastically" reduced its dependence on Russian gas, Spain "triplicated its imports" of gas from Russia.

For her part, ERC deputy María Carvalho, who has also intervened on this turn, has denounced that "more than 40% of the deaths of migrants" have been "in the last three years", that is, "in this legislature." In her opinion, these deaths are not "accidental", but are "the result" of "their immigration policies".

For ERC, he has highlighted, these policies "shield and militarize" the borders, outsource immigration controls, "criminalize and depersonalize the victims and do not search for the disappeared." "In this sense, they are the agreements they have with Morocco since 1999," he stressed, while making Sánchez ugly that a "fascist leader" shook his hand, recalling his visit to Italy.

On Morocco, he has censored the two opinions that exist in the Government, since Sánchez today spoke of a "friendly country", while the second vice president of the Executive and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, described it as a dictatorship. "They were? In any case, it is a friendly dictatorship, I suppose, ”she ironized.
