Environmental activists try to stick to frame of Munch's 'The Scream' in Oslo

A couple of environmental activists have tried unsuccessfully to stick to the frame of Edvard Munch's iconic painting 'The Scream' at the National Museum in Oslo, Norway. The security guards of the museum have reduced the two activists and a third one who was recording the act.

The Police have confirmed that the attempt has left glue residue on the glass that protects the painting, otherwise intact, as it has been made known on its Twitter account. 'The Scream' is considered the most famous work of the Norwegian painter and has become this Friday the target of the group "Stopp oljeletinga" (Enough oil exploration).

The three detainees are citizens of Finland, Denmark and Norway, as reported by the Police. In a statement, the organization demanded the immediate suspension of all exploration and development licenses for new oil and gas fields in Norway, one of the world's largest producers.
