Eleven senior government officials have assets worth more than one million euros

Eleven senior officials of the Generalitat have assets worth more than one million euros and the Minister of Economy, Natàlia Mas, is the one with the greatest wealth among the members of the ERC Government with assets worth nearly 900,000 euro.

This is clear from the declaration of assets of the members of the Government, published on the Transparency portal and updated with the assets of the new ministers and the rest of senior officials who joined the Catalan executive after the departure of JxCat from the Generalitat.

Natàlia Mas is the councilor who declares the most assets and surpasses the rest of the members of the Government, including all those of ERC who started the legislature, although her declaration also includes liabilities that rise to 685,073 euros.

Mas has 50% of two apartments valued at 650,000 and 350,000 euros, a pension plan of 125,000, shares worth about 250,000 and 23,000 euros in the bank.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Meritxell Serret, is ahead of Mas in the ranking of assets of the new ministers, with assets valued at 298,000 euros and no debt, followed by the head of Universities, Joaquim Nadal, with 255,000 euros in assets and also debt free.

For her part, in the declaration of assets of the Minister of Justice, Gemma Ubasart, there are assets for 268,390 euros and liabilities valued at 199,200, and in that of the new head of Territori, Juli Fernàndez, assets valued at 157,752.65 euros and 95,735 .45 euros in liabilities.

In the documentation posted on the Transparency portal, there is no information on the assets of the Minister of Health, Manel Balcells, nor of the Minister of Social Rights, Carles Campuzano.

It so happens that the previous Minister of Economy, Jaume Giró (JxCat), was the one who declared the most assets of the entire Catalan government, including senior officials, with assets valued at 7.1 million, including a boat.

Now, after the departure of Giró, the one who declares the most assets of all the senior government officials is the director of the Institut d'Estudis de l'Autogovern and former ERC secretary general, Joan Ridao, with 2.2 million, who heads a group of up to eleven senior officials with assets of more than one million euros.

This group includes Gabriel Capella, senior health official since 2016 and who has 1.74 million; the director of the Public Security Institute of Catalonia, Marta Roca (1.5 million), the director of services of the Ministry of Territory, Teresa Prohias (1.48 million), or the president of the Catalan Competition Authority, Roger Loppacher, with assets valued at 1.27 million euros.

The delegate of the Government in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Francesc Claret, also declares more than one million euros in assets (1.26), as well as two senior officials of the Ministry of the Presidency, Carme Figueras and Maria Àngels Arróniz, with 1 .24 and 1.14 million, respectively.

Marta Espasa, secretary of the Treasury, declares 1.1 million, Josep Lluís García, head of the legal advice of the Ministry of Economy, has 1.08 million and the general director of Innovation, Lluís Juncà, just over a million ( 1.03).
