Easyjet crew members have called off the strike that was scheduled for this weekend at several Spanish airports after closing an agreement with the British company.

Easyjet strike called off after 22% pay rise agreed

Easyjet crew members have called off the strike that was scheduled for this weekend at several Spanish airports after closing an agreement with the British company.

According to the USO union, the pact contemplates a salary increase of 22% in the next three years, which will translate into a 4% increase retroactively from March of this year; 13%, by 2023, and 5%, by 2024.

The agreement also contemplates a change in the duration of the activity period of the discontinuous fixed contracts, which will be 9 months of activity and 3 months of inactivity (previously, it was 8 months of activity and 4 months of inactivity). This measure will come into force in the 2022 season.

In addition, the agreement includes financial compensation for

work on days off and the increase in compensation or flexible benefits for flight attendants and flight attendants, both from January 1, 2023 or the increase in payment for third language.

According to the statement, of the 418 cabin crew who provide services for Easyjet in Spain, 303 have participated in the meetings held today and 74.6% have ratified the agreement.

Miguel Galán, general secretary of USO at EasyJet, has celebrated the agreement: "After weeks of strike and months of negotiation, the company has sent us an economic proposal that, without being exactly what we were demanding, does represent an important rapprochement to the salaries and conditions that our colleagues have in Europe".
