Do not miss the spectacle of the Eta Aquarids

This Friday, May 5, is a very special day to observe the stars. This is the peak of the Eta Aquarids meteor shower, which has been active through April and May. And in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we don't want to miss it.

This year is expected to be especially impressive with 120-160 meteors per hour! These meteors are caused by Earth encountering a dense stream of debris from Halley's Comet, which left a trail of cosmic particles in its wake.

Fireballs that form upon entering Earth's atmosphere can leave glowing "trains" in their wake that last from several seconds to minutes.

If you want to observe the Eta Aquarids meteor shower the best time is after midnight to dawn, with peak hours from 3 to 4 am. m.

You can observe it from anywhere in the world, but it is important to find a place without light pollution for better observation. Enjoy this unique show that heaven offers us!
