The Désir exhibition, by the artist Mayte Vieta, can be visited until June 30 at La Mercè. It is a collaboration between this Girona cultural center and the Fundació Vila Casas. The exhibition, of which we can see some fragments in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, is curated by Natàlia Chocarro.
Mayte Vieta expresses herself artistically through photography, sculpture and installations. Each work has a special form and content, making light one of its keys, if not the main one.
The images, the shapes and the volume are of infinite readings, but we are given some clues in the phrases that accompany them, such as: "Trust the trace of tears and learn to live", by Paul Celan.
Vieta's proposal swings between installation and photography and has to do with the contemplation of nature from a space of introspection based on fragments of memory and dreams.
The artist immerses herself in the world of memories and emotions to convey a complex happiness through a selection of works that include these snapshots, but also sculpture.
