Dainese surpasses Ganna at the Íscar goal

The Italian Alberto Dainese (Team DSM) won the sprint in the nineteenth stage of the Vuelta a España ending in Íscar. The transalpine sprinter overtook his compatriot Filippo Ganna (Ineos) in a tight finish in which Ivan García Cortina (Movistar) was fifth. A completely flat terrain between La Bañeza and Íscar favored the control of the Alpecin team, which worked for Kaden Groves.

However, the Australian suffered a fall with a kilometer to go and ended the day bloodied. Dainese won the sprint with a time of 3h.42.09. ahead of his compatriot Filippo Ganna (Ineos) and the Dutch Marijn Van den Berg (EF Education).

Tomorrow the penultimate stage through the Sierra del Guadarrama will take place with eight climbs to third category climbs and, although no surprises are expected, it is the last opportunity for changes to the final podium in Madrid.

In general there have been no changes. Sepp Kuss remains the leader with 17 seconds ahead of his teammate Jonas Vingegaard and 1.08 seconds ahead of Primoz Roglic.
