As tradition dictates, Xavi Hernández and Diego Martínez, coaches of Barça and Espanyol respectively, held a cordial meeting at the Camp Nou this afternoon before the derby this Saturday (2:00 p.m.) in front of close to a hundred people.
Both left the changing room tunnel together, where they had a little chat before the photograph for the media. Already on the pitch they showed the relationship of respect they maintain, despite the sporting rivalry between the two entities they represent.
Subsequently, both received their team's shirt from their press officers and the traditional photo was taken between them, in a natural environment.
Despite the fact that this meeting of coaches is a tradition before derbies, in the 2016/17 season it did not take place due to the fact that the former Barça coach Luis Enrique and the expert Quique Sánchez Flores did not have a good relationship.
