Controversy at the Brava festival in Madrid over charging for shuttle buses at abusive prices

New controversy in Madrid over transportation at the end of a music festival. Madrid's Brava festival could charge for the shuttle bus service that was launched for attendees over the weekend, but Madrid City Council is analyzing the "abusive price" that got in the way.

As sources from the Urban Planning, Environment and Mobility area have informed Europa Press, the City Council has analyzed the mobility plan and it has been confirmed that the organizer of the event contracted the EMT bus service and may pass the cost on to the user.

According to the Ser chain, a price of 8 euros was set for concert attendees who wanted to use the shuttle buses from the Ifema venue to Plaza de Castilla. Apart from the bracelet for access to the music concerts, they were provided with another bracelet that gave access to the buses on both days of concerts. The problem is that the attendees who paid for this service were surprised that it was not a private service, but rather a special free service that the Municipal Transportation Company had launched for these concerts.

In any case, the Almeida City Council considers that the price charged is "abusive" and is analyzing, through an informative file, the consequences that this charge has had "to adopt the necessary measures in case of non-compliance with the mobility plan ". In fact, a file has been opened by the Madrid council to analyze what happened.

"It is the first time that the Madrid City Council is aware of such a fact," the same sources have pointed out, while at the same time they have assured that, "on a general basis in the event of any event that includes bus services in its mobility plan, the EMT authorized by the CRTM, will be free for users".

In most music concerts held in Madrid or surrounding towns there are transportation problems, since they end very late and there is no way to leave the venues quickly. It has happened at Primavera Sound, at Mad Cool in Villaverde and at a specific event held at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium. Taxi and VTC services have been overwhelmed and prices have skyrocketed in some cases for vehicles with drivers.
