The Andalusian forest firefighting service (Plan Infoca) has considered controlled, at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, the declared agricultural fire between Motril and Salobreña, in the province of Granada.

The fire has affected two farmhouses in the La Vega area, leaving one of them completely burned, and two people have been injured when trying to put out the flames, as detailed by the 112 Andalusia Emergency service.

Around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, Telephone 112 received the first of more than 40 calls warning of a significant column of smoke between Motril and Salobreña.

From the coordinating room, the Motril and Almuñécar Firefighters, Infoca, the 061 Health Emergency Center, the Local Police, the National Police Corps and the Motril Civil Protection Volunteer Group were activated.

Infoca personnel have collaborated in the control work with a medium-heavy helicopter (MA-4), two cargo planes on the ground, a fire engine, an operations technician and a group of forest firefighters. Now, the auction and liquidation work continues.

The fire has been located in the Vega de Motril area, near the old N-340, in a stubble area of ​​two farmhouses. The fire has caused one of them to burn completely while the other has been affected. For its part, no ship in the area has been affected, as reported by the firefighters in the area.

As a result of the flames, two people have been injured, a 39-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy, who were evacuated to the hospital by private means and have minor burns.
