“Although our transport and engineering services cover all types of materials, routes and means of transport, due to our knowledge and professional experience, we are very focused on special components with extra measures and/or extra weight, especially in components related to the wind industry. ”, explains Diego Rueda Alzugaray, General Manager of Conecta Logistics.
Fully active since 2019, Conecta is made up of 6 people with more than 25 years of experience in the world of large component logistics. From Pamplona, practically 95% of its volume, both in terms of types of transported materials and invoicing, is related to the national and international transport of large components for nacelles, hubs, blades and wind towers. Its main clients are in Navarra, Euskadi and Aragón. In addition, internationally they work for clients from China, Germany, USA, India, Brazil, etc.
At Conecta they have 3 areas of activity. As forwarders, they manage the transport of all types of goods from/to anywhere in the world thanks to their global network of agents. From the Engineering department, they support and develop ad-hoc solutions for their clients for processes, procedures, designs, calculations and certifications of all types of transport, lashing, lifting tools... related to the logistics process.
And finally, the regular Bilbao-North Europe service, with which, since February 2019, every 3 weeks the Port of Bilbao has been connected with the ports of Cuxhaven (Germany) and Esbjerg (Denmark), in addition to other ports en route and/or Baltic Sea subject to inducement, which gives great flexibility to this service. This service is fundamentally focused on special and project cargo.
Compared to other forwarders, Conecta is a small but knowledgeable company. Competing with these giants in such an aggressive and competitive market, especially when it comes to standardized cargo, is very complicated. That is why they decided to specialize.
All this knowledge and experience is reinforced by its engineering department, which in addition to offering logistics development services to customers, also internally allows them to develop more competitive and safer solutions for their customers.
The last piece of all this gear, which Diego tells us, is the staff. “We are lucky to have great professionals fully integrated into the company who consider it as their own project. Without them, Conecta would not exist”.
Despite the complicated situation due to the uncertainty caused by the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and the extreme rise in fuel costs, the balance up to now is considered positive, since they are fulfilling the commitments made with its clients, consolidating its relationships with them and maintaining the levels of work and billing that had been set for this year.
"We have expanded our portfolio of clients and suppliers, with a significant increase in the contracting of engineering projects, surpassing, as early as August, the level of all of 2021. We also continue to consolidate our regular line to Northern Europe, where we have increased the volume of shipped material and customers compared to 2021. Both were objectives set for this 2022”, concludes Diego Rueda, General Manager of Conecta Logistics
