The beach season, charming coves and paradisiacal destinations on the Costa Brava undoubtedly include Calonge, a unique place that has invested in culture and creativity in recent years. And while it is true that it has become the town with the most bookstores per inhabitant in Catalonia, it also concentrates talent in sectors such as fashion. A good example is the brand of bikinis and swimsuits All That She Loves that was born in the heart of this coastal town with a proposal of unique designs and pure art!
From her Calonge workshop, Clara Esteve, creator of All That She Loves, draws her collections impregnated with Mediterranean essence and under an unmistakable stamp, garment dyeing. Her way of working with tie dye is unique, the result of hours of experimentation in the studio until reaching the result that she imagines in each of her designs. We see it, for example, in his summer 2023 collection in bikinis and swimsuits in bold shades of pinks, greens, blues and oranges, which are hung and arranged by color at the entrance to his studio where they already look even as it is already giving life to his next collection for the summer of 2024.
“Almost all the garments are blank as if it were a canvas, then what we do is play with the paints and with the type of knots and ties, from there we make the drawing that we study each season, which can be the normal tye dye, sometimes squares, with balls, stripes, spots, rhombuses, marble effect, watercolor, sponges or splashes”, explains Esteve, who gave life to All That She Loves in 2016.
Esteve is passionate about garment dyeing and she does not hide it as she moves around her studio where there is a sea of rolls of fabric that makes it very difficult to guess how they will end up becoming swimwear with little scrap but a lot of imagination. “With the metallic ones, for example, we make the garment in smooth metal and then we give it the color with silver reflections that can currently be seen in the latest collection”, the designer details.
Esteve's restless spirit and passion for fashion, as she herself recounts, comes from her childhood, when she spent her time drawing and sewing dresses for her dolls thanks to the scraps that her grandmothers sewed, even though they were not seamstresses. She then studied design and pattern making, which she completed with a master's degree. He currently designs collections for a wide audience: "I don't like to age my collections because our goal is for the woman who picks up an All That She Loves swimsuit to fall in love both when she has it in her hand and when she's wearing it, that is comfortable and versatile. In short, let it be a garment that represents you ”, says Esteve, who worked at TCN for fifteen years before embarking on her solo adventure.
"An All That She Loves woman is free, empowered, with a Mediterranean style and with the values pursued by the brand, that is, she seeks to give value to the garment first for the cost and second for the sustainable ethical creation process", clarifies the designer who is committed to a much slower process because working closely, with workshops and suppliers in the area, has been one of the unquestionable principles of the brand since its inception. She currently works with workshops in Costa Brava, Girona, Mataró, Canet, Pineda and various spaces in Barcelona, among others.
His garments are manually tied and dyed after clothing, with a unique and handmade appearance, are worked in materials such as elastic silk, recycled polyamide, cotton, linen, plush, openwork tricot in fine and thick versions, among others that come mostly from the regions near Calonge. Made in local is a priority.
The garments are pure effortless chic: in addition to the swimsuits, the collection includes long dresses and tops that leave the back exposed, flowing shirts and pants, long shirts, silk kimonos, pareo skirts, shorts or accessories, all of them They are the result of the inspirations that are born from the coves and the towns of the Coast. “When it comes to designing garments, I also basically let myself be influenced by color, that is, I make combinations between them. For example, from basic garments like a dress, we create accessories to support, play with colors”.
All That She Loves was born with products more focused on lingerie and intimates. But the desire for growth and the innovative spirit of her creator paved the way for the collections of swimsuits and bikinis. It currently also has casualwear, activewear and accessories collections, always following the essence of the brand that is present every year at events such as 080 Barcelona Fashion.
