Ciudadanos denounces the "stubborn reinvention" of the Penal Code to benefit the leaders of 1-O

The spokesperson for the Catalan executive of Ciudadanos, Anna Grau, has criticized the "stubborn reinvention" of the Penal Code that, in her opinion, is being promoted by the Government of Pedro Sánchez to reform criminal figures related to corruption for the benefit, she has highlighted, from their ERC parliamentary partners.

Grau has denounced the criminal "laundering of conduct" in progress, which can be summarized, as he has stated, in not denouncing, pardoning or allowing the statute of limitations committed by the pro-independence leaders and in which the perpetrators "take him away dead" to the detriment of the the whole of the citizenry, who sees embezzlement as a way of diverting resources for health or education, Grau declared before the press.

In this sense, the Citizens deputy has indicated that her group will defend a motion to combat corruption in plenary session that begins tomorrow in Parliament and recalled that her party has fought against this "scourge" before, during and after the " democratic coup” which, from his point of view, entailed the independence process, which had an “undoubted economic dimension” for which some of its promoters have already received fines and others are pending trial.

Grau has extended this denunciation of "criminal revisionism" to "historical revisionism" in connection with the commemoration of the 90th anniversary of Parliament, which will hold a solemn session tomorrow to commemorate its birth during the Republic. In this sense, Ciudadanos believes that instead of the planned "coven" it could be used to vindicate the figure of General José Aranguren, whose command was the Civil Guard on July 18, 1936 and thanks to which the "seditious and insurgents" failed in Barcelona, which is why when Franco's troops prevailed, at the end of the war, he was shot at Camp de la Bota, recalled Grau.

Internally, the spokesperson for the party in Catalonia did not want to comment on the confrontation between Inés Arrimadas and Edmundo Bal to lead the formation and has praised the "democratic wave" that Ciudadanos is experiencing in the refoundation process, from which the leadership model that the militants choose in the next congress in January, has limited itself to indicating.
