Cillian Murphy has heir at home

The winner of the Oscar for Best Actor, Cillian Murphy, celebrated his success with his family, his wife, the visual artist Yvonne McGuinness, to whom he has been married for more than 20 years, and his two teenage children, Malachy, 19, and Aran, 16. The four walked the red carpet at the Dolby Theater shortly before the Irish actor took the statuette.

At that moment it could be seen how the two kids are two clones of Oppenheimer's protagonist. The two are the result of the actor's marriage to Yvonne McGuinness, whom he met in 1996 in Dublin when he was playing in a music group. They married in 2004 and a year later they became parents to Malachy (who was born in December 2005); In July 2007 they welcomed Aran. The family has lived since 2015 in a mansion in Monkstown, south of Dublin.

The youngest of the Murphys has inherited his father's passion for the world of acting. At just 12 years old, in 2019, he played Shakespeare's son in the play Hamnet, with which he toured New York, Boston and Hong Kong. He is now preparing to follow in his father's footsteps into the film industry. After making his screen debut in 2022 with the film Lola, directed by Andrew Legge, he will soon be part of the adaptation of the novel Klara y el Sol, alongside Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.

Aran is very excited about this new film project and is looking forward to being under the orders of director Taika Waititi, husband of the singer Rita Ora, who will bring to the big screen the adaptation of the best seller by the British writer of Japanese origin Kazuo Ishiguro, which received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017.

Furthermore, young Murphy has just signed with an important law firm that works on behalf of big Hollywood stars such as Ryan Gosling, Angelina Jolie and Will Smith. According to The Mirror, a source has said: "Aran is young but he already has a stellar team behind him. The future looks very bright." The advisory team in question is Sloane Offer, Weber and Dern.

Asked about his successor, the Oscar winner replied: "You know, he is a very, very good actor. I am very proud of him." As for whether he gave her any advice, Murphy said: "He's very capable."

Cillian Murprhy is an extremely discreet man with his private life. He loves to spend as much time as he can with his family and although he speaks very little about his children, he is aware that they are no longer children. "They are very good guys. We laugh a lot," he said on one occasion, assuring that "they like some of my movies" and say that his roles are always "really intense." Cillian and his wife have raised his children outside of his father's work because they considered it unnecessary to expose them to the violence of the roles he usually plays.

In an interview with the Irish Mirror newspaper, the Peaky Blinders star confessed that all he wants is for "they to be happy, self-confident children." "Let them know themselves. I think that's the most important thing and they're going in that direction. They're good kids, but I try not to project my things onto them. I try not to. I want to let them find their own path."
