Chelsea breaks the market: pays 120 million for Enzo Fernández

The winter market has spent the day in a mess, its last day.

The Enzo Fernández (22) case has been being dealt with frantically in the offices and was already resolved around midnight, when the highest transfer of the winter market was made public: the Argentine midfielder, recent world champion, will leave Benfica to go to Chelsea, which has paid the termination clause of 120 million euros.

At that time, and in the Spanish market, Sevilla, cornered by a game and results crisis, had been reinforced with a midfielder and a striker, both on loan.

The Senegalese Pape Gueye (24) arrives from Marseille and the Andalusian Bryan Gil (21) returns from Tottenham. Both incorporations join those of Ocampos (he had returned from Ajax two weeks ago) and Badé and cover the loss of Augustinsson, on loan to Mallorca (in recent days Carmona, Delaney and Dolberg had also left).

Isco remains in limbo, today without a team, whose future seemed linked to Union Berlin, a modest player who has become big and is now second in the Bundesliga. The Andalusian had passed the medical examination in Germany, but at the last minute the deal fell through.

Meanwhile, Betis announced the signing of Ayoze Pérez (29), a striker from the Canary Islands who has arrived from Leicester on loan, and Morlanes was leaving Villarreal to join Mallorca. Seferovic, from Benfica, will arrive on loan to Celta. Atlético will sign the Irishman Matt Doherty and transfer Felipe to Nottingham Forest.

Outside our borders, the transfer of Sabitzer was made official, from Bayern, who will now play for Manchester United, which is Barça's imminent rival in the Europa League.

Pedro Porro said goodbye to Sporting de Portugal to join Tottenham, Jorginho (Chelsea) was going to Arsenal, leader of the Premier. Diego Llorente will move from Leeds to Mourinho's Roma.
