Chargers and electric batteries or a 'green' ferry, the letters of the eMobility Expo in Valencia

At the stand that the Valencian company Power Electronics has taken to the eMobility Expo in Valencia, there are various types of electric chargers, by size and capacity. One of them is the NB Station, a power station of up to 1.4MW that allows charging up to 24 vehicles simultaneously. "Our goal is to make it as quick to load as it is to refuel," explains Raúl Padierna, head of sales for this Llíria-based firm.

The multinational presents in the congress some of its innovations with a clear commitment to electrification that in countries like the United States they resolve with greater agility. "There with an electric Ford car they already sell you our charger, here it is a marathon what there is now," he acknowledges.

Power Electronics is one of the main players in the transformation of mobility and one of the global partners of this congress that is held for the first time in Valencia and that is already confident in its possibilities: the 2024 edition is already dated for the 12th, March 13 and 14.

A meeting of 179 companies that present up to 400 novelties in 15,000 square meters, with five simultaneous scenarios in which 347 experts participate and in which some 5,300 businessmen, managers and professionals have registered, as confirmed yesterday by its director, Sandra Infante.

Very close to the Power Electronics stand is that of the Technological Institute of Energy (ITE), which is now leading the Alianza Valenciana de Baterías, a project announced in the midst of a pandemic that is on pause but which, project sources explain, continues to work to create a manufacturing and innovation system pending the start-up of the gigafactory. "The one from Sagunt?" asks this medium, knowing that Power Electronics presented another project of which, for the moment, there is no progress. Yesterday morning at its stand there were live explanations, with videos, about the manufacture of cells, a new technology in which ITE has positioned itself, even more so with the first Battery Lab, inaugurated a week ago.

Grupo Alonso, an international holding made up of more than 135 companies, will also participate in the event, which will present at the eMobility Expo the development of projects for green hydrogen generation plants as well as its subsequent storage and consumption in the fleet of its land transport division .

And from trucks to ferries, because Baleària is another of the companies that is present at the event, very convinced of the green transition that is already involving the entire transport sector. “We have come here to show off, because Baleària is here to recount its experience of more than five years with liquefied natural gas and to present the Cap de Barbaria, the first electric ferry that will operate between Ibiza and Formentera this 2023”, says Lydia del Canto, director Sustainability of the shipping company.

With an hour's journey, the ship whose model is exhibited at this congress will not emit polluting gases in the port and its surroundings and will be an experimental laboratory on the use of green hydrogen.

Also participating in Feria Valencia is Zeleros, the Valencian company born from the UPV that will soon work on its own Hyperloop model from its test track in the port of Sagunto, which they hope to open "before the summer", they confirmed yesterday.

The company has also entered the battery business, having recently received €2.8 million from PERTE-VEC to design a high-performance battery pack for electric mobility sectors. And Zeleros and other firms will continue to talk about the importance of batteries in the electromobility business today and tomorrow, when the 2023 European Battery Forum is held, organized by the European Association of Automotive Battery Manufacturers.
