Civil Protection of the Generalitat has activated this Tuesday the alert of the special Ventcat emergency plan due to the forecast of the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) of an episode of strong gusts of wind in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees area from this afternoon until this Wednesday.
In a statement, it has reported that the wind gusts can exceed 90 kilometers per hour and that starting this morning and throughout Wednesday there will be a possibility that the episode will extend to the regions of Alt Empordà and Baix Empordà (Girona ) "with greater intensity."
Citizens are recommended to take extreme caution on the road and in outdoor activities, avoiding wooded areas "where branches or trees could fall."
