The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has assured this Friday that he will maintain and strengthen the offices of Assistance to Victims of Gender Violence in the Valencian Community by reinforcing their powers.
This Thursday, the Minister of Justice, Elisa Núñez, indicated that the Generalitat was studying whether it maintained the three offices of Assistance to Victims of Gender Violence that operate in the Community and, in any case, with what powers.
Asked this Friday about it - before attending the opening ceremony of the university course at the historic headquarters of the University of Valencia -, Mazón insisted that "of course they will continue" and considered that the minister's statements "do not need clarification ", but they were misunderstood.
"We are going to reinforce support for victims and better coordinate the powers" between the Ministries of Equality and Justice, the president said.
"We are going to improve the victim protection system, because on other occasions it has not worked. We are in the process of improvement, and that is what the counselor referred to, the coordination of this improvement process," he noted.
In any case, according to Mazón, "what there will not be new suppression of violence courts, as the previous government did, lack of protection of minors or promulgation of laws such as 'only yes means yes', which the previous Government supported ".
"There will be reinforcement of skills and coordination, this is the objective of the fight" in favor of "all victims, especially women," he concluded.
