Carlos Alcaraz - Alexander Zverev: Schedule and where to watch Roland Garros 2022 on TV today

Carlos Alcaraz is getting closer to signing his particular hat-trick. The Murcian tennis player will face Alexander Zverev this Tuesday, May 31, in a match corresponding to the Roland Garros quarterfinals. After winning the Conde de Godó Trophy and the Mutua Madrid Open, the teenager from El Palmar will face a German who wants to reclaim his place in the elite.

The match will take place on Tuesday, July 31, on the Philippe Chatrier court after two women's quarterfinals, so it will not start before 4:00 p.m. It will be seen through Eurosport. You can also follow minute by minute on the La Vanguardia website.

Carlos Alcaraz is living a 2022 of scandal. He became a revelation when he was only expected to make it on the pro circuit, but this was only the beginning. Leaving no time to digest or celebrate his success in Rio de Janeiro, the Murcian began to add victory after victory, title after title —the Miami Masters 1000, the Conde de Godó Trophy and the Mutua Madrid Open—, making his way through the tennis elite. He is no longer even a reality, but a star. He is the sixth best racket in the world.

With 32 wins and 3 losses this season, 'Carlitos' has not known defeat since mid-April, when he fell at the hands of Sebastian Korda at the Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo, a setback that he was able to avenge. Since then, there have been 14 consecutive wins against names like Novak Djokovic (1st in the ATP ranking at that time), Rafael Nadal (4th) or Alexander Zverev himself (3rd). At Roland Garros, he has beaten Lóndero, Ramos, Korda and Khachanov, losing just two sets against the Catalan.

For his part, Alexander Zverev has had a remarkable season, but with nothing new to add to his showcase. He has reached the final of the Montpellier and Madrid competitions, as well as being a semi-finalist in Monte Carlo and Rome, but he has always lacked the last step to obtain gold.

At Roland Garros, the German is fulfilling his condition as favorite. Only Sebastián Báez managed to win a set (two, in fact). Neither Ofner, nor Nakashima, nor Zapata. Currently, he occupies third place in the ATP ranking, but it will be the Murcian who starts as the favorite after his overwhelming victory on the Madrid courts in just over an hour.

Alcaraz and Zverev have already met on three occasions throughout their respective careers. Although the Spanish prevailed in the most recent precedent, the balance is still favorable to the German, who won his first two duels, in 2021.

The winner of the heads-up match between Alcaraz and Zverev in Paris will face Serbian Novak Djokovic or Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the semifinals. His match will also be played this Tuesday, in the xxx turn.
