The flags that signal the state of the bathing on the beaches of Calafell incorporate a symbology this summer to make it easier for colorblind people to understand. In this way, the red flag has a triangle, the yellow flag a diagonal bar in the center and the green flag has a triangle and a diagonal bar in the center.
"The measure makes the beaches safer, for the correct identification of the risk by all users," they point out from the City Council in a statement. In it, they especially highlight that the new flags help to identify inconspicuous risks, such as ocean currents.
The symbology introduced in Calafell follows the one that has been established in recent years in the municipalities of the Valencian Community.
