Cañadas presents a joint candidacy to the Cercle with young people and representatives of SMEs

The candidate for the elections of the Cercle d'Economia, Rosa Cañadas, presented her list this morning with a high presence of women (seven out of 16), young people (five are under 40 years old) and with a large representation of SMEs and the academic world. Cañadas has explained that she is open to incorporating members of Jaume Guardiola's candidacy if they win the elections on July 12.

Among the 15 people who will accompany Cañadas, Saha Michaud (Glovo), Jorge Lasheras (Japan Business Circle and former Yamaha), Marina López (Hotusa) or Rosa Nonell (Universitat de Barcelona) stand out. The 16-member candidacy (president plus 15) has a total of 13 people who have never been part of a Cercle d'Economia board.

In the Cañadas team, there are no representatives of the big companies in Catalonia, except for López, who belongs to the family that owns Hotusa, and Michaud, co-founder of Glovo. "Today we must give a lot of importance to SMEs because we need them to be larger. And they also represent 70% of employment," explained Cañadas.

Gerard Garcia, a member of the bid, is the founder and CEO of the Deale platform. He has been a member of the Cercle since he was 18 years old and is one of the promoters of the Cercle Jove. "When the Cercle was formed they were young and they were not the big companies that they are now," Garcia said during the presentation of the candidacy.
