LOS ANGELES -- Britney's ex-husband Jason Alexander was detained Thursday at the Ventura County residence the pop star lives in with Sam Asghari.
Alexander was married to Spears for 55 hour after a Las Vegas 2004 wedding that was annulled. A local law enforcement official said that security chased Alexander and took him into custody after he showed up at the residence.
According to a source, Spears' Thousand Oaks residence was called by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department at 2 p.m. regarding a trespasser.
According to the official, Alexander was taken into custody on suspicion of an outstanding warrant for a felony in Napa County.
The news was first reported by TMZ. Mathew Rosengart (a lawyer for Spears) said that he was furious about the "intrusion" in his client's account and thanked law enforcement officers who were prompt to respond.
He said, "Britney's safe."
Alexander's lawyer did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
In September, Asghari and Spears announced their engagement.
After a judge ruled in favor, Spears, 40 was released from her conservatorship. This ended a 13-year-old arrangement that legally prevented the pop star from making financial and personal decisions.
