Boluda asks at the Rei Jaume I Awards to leave "the political contest" and invest more in I D i

The president of the Valencian Foundation of the King Jaume I Awards, Vicente Boluda, has demanded this afternoon in Valencia for more public investment in I D i. "We are losing ground with the countries that lead the technological race," Boluda said during the speech he gave on the occasion of the delivery of the King Jaume I Awards that were presented this Tuesday at the Lonja de València with the presence of King Felipe SAW.

Boluda has pointed out that Spain is "at the bottom of Europe in I D i" and that "we occupy position 41 in the OECD", so it is "determining" that strategies be aligned to advance in science and research. "The countries that advance the most are those that have public policies involved with I D i," she said.

In the speech, Boluda - who a few days ago showed disagreement with the investiture of President Sánchez during the last event of the Mediterranean corridor held in Madrid - approached the debate again to demand that "political disputes be put aside and put into pacts are in place that put science and research policies at the center."

In his speech, he also appealed to the audiovisual industry to incorporate more scientific characters in television series, an idea that the Foundation he presides has exploited in this campaign to promote the Rei Jaume I Awards with the proposal “The Series that we deserve.”

Mayor María José Catalá has also claimed this idea: "Doesn't Professor Grisolía deserve a series? Born in Valencia and in love with his hometown, he didn't stop pedaling until we became a place of pilgrimage for Nobel Prize winners, creating these prestigious scientific prizes. that brings us together here today.

The mayor, who opened the ceremony, recalled that Valencia will be the European Green Capital in 2024, a title that, she assured, will make it "the European agora where all the thinking linked to sustainability and environmental sciences in Europe will be concentrated." ". According to Catalá, Cap i Casal will contribute to the world "its own narrative, without radicalism that could destroy areas of well-being and always in common agreement with reason and science."

For his part, the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, has also highlighted the figure of Grisolía, who he has celebrated that, like all scientists, he dedicates "his best hours to making it possible for our society to enjoy greater heights every day." of growth, well-being and cohesion".

In his speech, Mazón wanted to reiterate the commitment of the territory he presides to "serenity and dialogue" and he highlighted the entrepreneurial and open character of Valencians in his appeal to the award winners. And he has appealed to science as a guarantor of the prosperity that must be common to all territories, as he has assured that this "will never be complete if it is not the prosperity of Murcia, Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Aragon and Catalonia".
