Better a point than nothing for Girona

Girona and Osasuna shared the points in an even match in which the Navarrese struck first, with a goal from Kike Barja, and which the Girona side neutralized later, through David López just before the break. A valuable point for the locals, who faced this duel with the first urgencies of the course, although they have already chained six games without winning.

Probably for this reason, Míchel decided to shake up the team and try not to repeat, above all, the defensive and low-ball mistakes that had been made lately. The Madrid coach chose to revolutionize the eleven and, either out of necessity or to introduce some rotations, the truth is that he modified more than half the team. Up to six changes, starting with the goal, with the bet of the Argentine Paulo Gazzaniga, very well received by the fans, to the detriment of the questioned Juan Carlos. In defense, despite continuing with a line of four, only Santi Bueno remained in the team, forming a pair with David López instead of Bernardo in the axis. And accompanying them, the wings Ian Couto and Javi Hernández in exchange for Arnau and Miguel Gutiérrez. In the middle of the field, Michel gave continuity to the duo Oriol Romeu and Aleix Garcia, who continues to play everything. Instead, Roro Riquelme rested from the start, giving his position to Toni Villa. And opposite, Stuani also stayed on the bench giving entry to Manu Vallejo, who shared attack with Taty Castellanos.

These numerous changes, however, did not improve the performance of a Girona that, especially in the first half, once again gave too many facilities to the rival. Rubén Peña, for example, had all the time to accommodate a ball in front of him and shot slightly off target.

And minutes later, Nacho Vidal finished off a center completely alone inside the area in which it seemed easier to score than to send over the crossbar. On the third, however, the Navarrese team converted a move born of a bad service from Girona into a goal. Kike Barja, who had just come on for the injured Abde, beat Couto and scored a great goal from outside the area.

And when it seemed that the result at the break would once again be unfavorable for Girona, on the last play of the first half, a free kick from the side by Aleix Garcia ended up finishing it off with a goal from David López in the first clear opportunity for the Girona team.

Despite this psychological goal, Gazzaniga had to show off after the restart, deflecting a new shot from a distance by Moncayola, who was very well placed.

After this initial scare, Míchel responded with a double substitution by taking out Manu Vallejo and Toni Villa and bringing in Valery and a cheered Roro Riquelme. The young midfielder from Madrid once again provided a good dose of danger in the final meters despite not finding the goal.

In the final minutes, Reinier also entered first, and then Stuani, to modify the tactical drawing and go on to play with two points, in a clear declaration of intentions of the desire to go after the match.

But this time the reward did not come, although in addition Stuani had the victory in his boots in a one on one that Sergio Herrera was able to stop.
