Benzema unleashes panic in France by withdrawing from training injured

The alarms have gone off in France. Karim Benzema had to withdraw early from training this Saturday for the French team and according to L'Equipe he would be out for the debut next Wednesday against Australia (8:00 p.m.) and is almost ruled out for the rest of the World Cup in Qatar.

The Real Madrid striker participated this Saturday in his first collective session since the start of the concentration of the French team. But Benzema still does not find the best sensations and halfway through training he went to the locker room.

The French winger has been suffering from physical discomfort in the quadriceps of his left leg since October, which has prevented him from playing regularly for Real Madrid in the last month. It was hoped that with adequate rest he could be an important man for Didier Deschamps, but with three days to go before his debut, everything seems to be getting complicated again.

In the next few hours, medical tests will be carried out to determine the extent of the injury and whether he will be able to participate in what would be his second World Cup after 2014. Benzema was not in Russia because he was separated from the French team due to a case of blackmail with a sex video to his partner Valbuena.

The possible loss of Karim Benzema would mean the umpteenth setback for Deschamps, who today also lost Christopher Nkuku, injured after receiving a blow from Camavinga. These casualties would join those of Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kanté.

In the event that Benzema suffered a tear, Didier Deschamps could replace the player until Monday, the day before the debut against Australia.
