Bayern announce the signing of De Ligt

The departure of Robert Lewandowski just a few days ago has deprived Bayern Munich of a large number of goals, but the Bavarian team has preferred to invest first in defense, specifically in the hiring of Dutch central defender Matthijs De Ligt, from Juventus, who It has cost him 80 million euros, 70 fixed and 10 variables according to various information.

The German champion has made the arrival of De Ligt official, who at 22 years of age has become the center-back who has moved the most money in transfers in the history of football. He arrived at the Turin club in 2019 from Ajax for 85.5 million euros, which made him the second most expensive central defender after Harry Maguire (87 million), and now Bayern is spending a large amount of money again.

"I am very happy to become a player of this great club. FC Bayern is the most successful club in Germany, one of the most successful in Europe and also in the world. From the beginning, I felt the sincere appreciation of the sporting management, of the coach and also the board of directors, and that convinced me," De Ligt said in statements offered by Bayern.

The defender, who arrived in Italy with a great poster but did not quite gel, signs with Bayern until 2027. "De Ligt convinces in high-level international football not only because of his qualities as a player, but also because he always wears the leadership in his teams. He learned to take responsibility at an early age. A great team doesn't just need a great attack, and with this signing we reinforce our defense at the highest level", explained the club's general manager, Oliver Kahn.

De Ligt is the fourth signing that Bayern has made in this summer market. The first to arrive, at no transfer cost from Ajax, was Moroccan right-back Noussair Mazraoui. He also arrived from the Amsterdam club, in exchange for 18.5 million euros, the Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch and to strengthen the lead they signed Sadio Mané after paying 32 million fixed plus 10 in variables to Liverpool.
