The series of photographs of the city of Barcelona covered by low fog, captured by the Observatori Fabra meteorologist, Alfons Puertas, has been chosen as the best Photo of the Reader of La Vanguardia for the month of May.
The snapshots show unusual images of places in the Catalan capital, such as the port or the Olympic ring of Montjuïc, involved in this meteorological phenomenon.
The lame chamois, discovered by Iván Villarejo in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park; Cuaca, the sad little leg, photographed by Isaura Marcos in the Pedralbes monastery after failing again in her attempt to have offspring, and the kiss of the Berguedà marmots, by Emili Vilamala, were chosen as the best photographs of the month of April. It was appreciated that all three contain emotional stories starring animals.
During the month of March (and also in April) you could see many photographs published in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia on the subject of drought in the swamps, very topical. But, the image captured by Carme Molist, in which she summarized the problem (lack of water) and the solution (rain) in the same snapshot, was chosen as the best one by combining both elements in the same landscape.
In this case, we can see the meander of the dry river Ter, on which the Romanesque sanctuary of Sant Pere de Casserres rises, and observing the scene of a woman holding an umbrella on a day that rained, but very little, insufficient to help improve the flow of the Sau reservoir. In the case of Jane Maciel's snapshot, the white beauty of the landscape stands out, configuring an unusual image in the Catalan capital and reminiscent of a Christmas postcard.
Emili Vilamala captured the movement of a Rodalies convoy as it passed through the Plana de Vic, generating a play of lights and colors at dawn in the town of Malla, an image that was chosen as the best of January.
"At that moment it was about to become clear, when the sky loses its blackness and begins to see blue where the light of the train has not illuminated. Pure fantasy!" Vilamala explained.
