Barcala is looking for talent outside the PP: an architect and a journalist join his electoral list

Luis Barcala seeks to renew his list for the next municipal elections. And he does it based on people outside his party, three independents who will occupy positions that guarantee them, in practice, whether the PP wins or loses the rod of command, a position as councilors in the next Town Hall.

The architect Rocío Gómez and the journalist Ana Poquet will occupy positions 3 and 5 respectively in Barcala's candidacy, two signings that join that of the CEO of CF Intercity and president of the Lucentum Foundation, Toni Gallego, who is not a member of the Popular Party either .

These incorporations make the renewal of their positions more expensive for the current councilors. Although the rest of the list is not yet known, few are betting on the continuity of the controversial Julia Llopis, Councilor for Social Action, while the veteran José Ramón González has already announced his intention to step aside. Another of the "free" places will be left by Carlos Mazón, candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, number two in 2019.

Born in Alicante in 1977 and with a degree in Journalism from UCAM, Poquet has been a member of the board of directors of the Alicante Province Press Association for twelve years and vice-president for the last four. She currently presents the interview program 'Sin distancias' on Alacantí TV, a public media outlet made up of the consortium of the municipalities of Alicante, El Campello, Sant Joan and Xixona, which broadcasts in the region of l'Alacantí . She was previously a contributor to Información and El Mundo, specializing in Society issues.

"I am very pleased to announce the addition to my candidacy of Ana Poquet, a great journalism professional, of recognized prestige," Barcala highlighted. "He is an invaluable addition for his experience, for his knowledge of Alicante and for the love he shows for this city, as well as his enthusiasm for working and transforming Alicante into the project that we undertook a few years ago and that we have the iron will to complete, always for the interest of the people of Alicante".

For his part, Poquet thanked the confidence shown by Barcala and specified that "Alicante is to be known, to love it, and to tell it; and I am prepared to work for my city and for all the people of Alicante".

Number 3 on the 'popular' list will go to a woman born in 1993 and with a degree in Architecture from the University of Alicante, Rocío Gómez represents, according to Barcala, "the group of young people, prepared and with enthusiasm, who wants Alicante to continue to transform and become the city that we all want; and it joins a project that wants to govern for all Alicante".
